Partial Loading Subsets Dialog

Used to download either the entire VCM to your local system or only the components that you need. The dialog opens when you launch ConstructSim Planner or when you select ConstructSim > Partial Loading > Subsets from the main menu.

Note: The dialog does not automatically display when you open an existing overlay file directly, or when you select Get latest VCM from the ConstructSim Work Package Server, unless this is the first time you are launching ConstructSim Planner.

Choose Subset

The list box displays:

My Subsets - subsets that you create for your own use
Global Subsets - subsets created by the Administrator that are available to all users

Add

Opens the Create Subset dialog, which is used to select the components to add to the subset you want to create.

Edit

(Only available when you click a subset in the Choose Subset list box) Click Edit to open the Edit Subset [subset name] dialog. In this dialog, you can change the name of the subset or make changes to the components included in the subset.

When you click a subset in the Global Subsets list, the Edit button changes to Copy + Edit.

Remove

(Only available when you click a subset in the My Subsets section of the Choose Subset list box) Deletes the selected subset.

Show dialog at launch

Turn on if you want the dialog to open each time you launch ConstructSim Planner.

Default: None (or Default: [name of subset])

(Only available if you use the Set As Default button and choose one subset as the default) Turn on if you want the default subset you selected (using the Set As Default button) to open whenever you launch ConstructSim Planner.

Set As Default

To set a specific subset to open as the default whenever you launch ConstructSim Planner, select a subset in the Choose Subset list box and click Set As Default. The Default: None option updates to show the name of the subset, for example, Default: Subset - Equipment.

Load Subset

(Only available when dialog opens at time of product launch) Loads only the selected subset.

Load Full Model

(Only available when dialog opens at time of product launch) Loads the entire VCM.

Right-click menus

When you right-click My Subsets, a pop-up menu opens.

Add (same as clicking Add) - Opens the Create Subset dialog, which is used to select the components to add to the subset you want to create.
Locate - Opens the Locate Subset dialog, which is used to find a subset in the list box.

When you right-click a subset name in the My Subsets section, a pop-up menu opens.

Edit (same as clicking the Edit button) Opens the Edit Subset [subset name] dialog. In this dialog, you can change the name of the subset or make changes to the components included in the subset.
Remove - Deletes the subset.
Set as Default (same as clicking Set As Default) - Sets a specific subset to open as the default whenever you launch the product.
Load - (same as clicking Load Subset. Only available when dialog opens at time of product launch) Loads the selected subset.
Locate - Opens the Locate Subset dialog, which is used to find a subset in the list box.

When you right-click Global Subsets, you get the Locate menu item.

When you right-click a subset name in the Global Subsets section, a pop-up menu opens.

Copy and Edit - Copies a global subset to My Subsets and allows you to edit the subset.
Set as Default (same as clicking Set As Default) - Sets a specific subset to open as the default whenever you launch the product.
Load - (same as clicking Load Subset. Only available when dialog opens at time of product launch) Loads the selected subset.
Locate - Opens the Locate Subset dialog, which is used to find a subset in the list box.

Close

(Only available if you open the dialog from the main menu) Closes the dialog.
